The Williams team unveiled on Thursday its definitive colour scheme for the 2011 season The Grove-based squad unveiled its 2011 challenger, the FW33, earlier this month and has been running with an interim livery during winter testing. The NASCAR iRacing.com Tour Modified Series left Virginia in the second and third weeks of the season to head to North Carolina for three days of online racing competition. Lewis Hamilton to swap cars with Tony Stewart?

Formula One champ Lewis Hamilton will take the wheel of Tony Stewart's #14 NASCAR Sprint Cup Chevrolet at Watkins Glen. For lending Hamilton his car, Stewart will get the opportunity to try out the 2010 McLaren MP4-25. While both men are likely to come away shaky in the knees and with a better understanding of each other's racing worlds (as did Jeff Gordon and Juan Pablo Montoya when an earlier swap was arranged) this isn't just two random pals tossing their respective keys to each other.The common link between Lewis Hamilton and Tony Stewart is sponsor Mobil1 - the same petrochemical company who had the former rendered in its own oils in the painting at right. According to ESPN, the swap, which will happen as an exhibition this summer, won't be a boulevard cruise. Both cars will have their respective race teams travelling with them for tuning, giving Stewart and Hamilton the opportunity to fully terrorize themselves in these two very disparate race cars. Gordon ends win drought at Phoenix
Jeff Gordon ended a 66-race win-less streak by beating Kyle Busch to victory in Sunday's NASCAR Sprint Cup Series race at Phoenix. "Pinch me!" said Gordon while jumping off his trademark #24 Chevrolet in Victory Lane after finally getting back to his winning ways, claiming his 83rd career victory one year, 10 months and 22 days after winning for the last time at NASCAR's top level. The 39-year-old led a race-high 138 laps but following the final restart with 22 laps remaining, he had to chase the leading Toyota of Busch, who passed Tony Stewart for the lead shortly after the green flag waved for the last time.

Young Driver retains Turner, Mucke
Young Driver Aston Martin has completed its 2011 GT1 World Championship line-up by retaining Darren Turner and Stefan Mucke alongside the already-announced Tomas Enge, and recruiting newcomer Alex Muller. Turner, Mucke and Enge are all long-time factory Aston drivers, and were part of Young Driver's squad in the inaugural World GT1 series last year. This season will see Turner and Enge's partnership split up, with Turner joining Mucke in the #8 car, formerly shared with Christoffer Nygaard, while Muller joins Enge in the #7 Aston after appearing with Mad-Croc Corvette and Hegersport Maserati last year.

Series boss Marcello Lotti has been targeting an event in the USA for a couple of years, but has now met with US Touring Car Championship boss Ali Arsham to discuss a future co-operation. "The US market is very important for car manufacturers and this is why we are seriously taking into consideration the idea to hold a WTCC event here," Lotti said.

Car dealers do the strangest things to their vehicles. Just think about how many cars are out there with awful vinyl and fabric roof add-ons, a generation after manufacturers nearly swore them off entirely. Manchester Subaru in Manchester, New Hampshire isn't content to create some sticker-and-tape fake trim level on a top-dog 2011 Subaru WRX STI. Instead, the dealer has gone all Chainsaw Massacre on the rally-bred performance sedan. The result is a picnic basket of automotive woe.
At least the "handle" left after all the chop-shopping maintains a fleeting semblance of rigidity. The rest? Awful. There's an ill-fitting tonneau, chopped door pillars and the STI's trademark enormous wing still hangs off the trunklid. The worst part? This poor Subaru's price is purportedly $75,000. Not kidding. Sure, there's an "exclusivity" factor, but 75 large buys an awful lot of real high performance convertible; the kind that won't corner like an overcooked noodle. The dealership reportedly commissioned five of these abominations, which is likely five more than anyone wants. Thanks for the tip, Jason!

Monday deadline for test decision
Formula 1 teams will meet tomorrow night to make a final decision on whether the final pre-season test in Bahrain will go ahead, AUTOSPORT can reveal. The Barcelona test concludes on Monday and sources indicate that it is impossible to delay making a call any longer because of the problems that could arise from uncertainty over whether to go to Bahrain or remain in Spain. Barcelona and Jerez are strong candidates to hold the replacement test and if Bahrain were dropped, teams would need to put into place alternative logistical plans as soon as the test finishes tomorrow.
Kolles pleased by Mondini?s pace
Hispania team boss Colin Kolles said he was impressed with how quick Giorgio Mondini was in Catalunya testing today considering his long absence from the Formula 1 cockpit. The 30-year-old from Switzerland was among the test driver line-up at the Kolles-run Midland F1 team in 2006, and also raced for Kolles' Audi squad in the Le Mans Series in 2009 - but has not raced competitively since.

Young Driver retains Turner, Mucke
Young Driver Aston Martin has completed its 2011 GT1 World Championship line-up by retaining Darren Turner and Stefan Mucke alongside the already-announced Tomas Enge, and recruiting newcomer Alex Muller. Turner, Mucke and Enge are all long-time factory Aston drivers, and were part of Young Driver's squad in the inaugural World GT1 series last year. This season will see Turner and Enge's partnership split up, with Turner joining Mucke in the #8 car, formerly shared with Christoffer Nygaard, while Muller joins Enge in the #7 Aston after appearing with Mad-Croc Corvette and Hegersport Maserati last year.

It looks like Bentley isn't wasting any time when it comes to capitalizing on the company's latest feat of speed. According to Cars UK, the automaker is planning to roll out 100 special-edition models to commemorate Juha Kankkunen's recent record-breaking ice-speed run. Officially called the Bentley Continental Supersports Ice-Speed Record Convertible, the special-edition cars will be available with one of three unique paint colors; Beluga, Quartzite and Arctic White. Red detail accents will be found all over the vehicle, and a special dark gray soft top caps off the whole shebang.
Under the hood, buyers won't be disappointed to find a 6.0-liter W12 engine with a galactic 631 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque on tap. Those numbers are identical to the standard edition, though given that Kankkunen's record-breaking vehicle was powered by the same lump, we can't exactly fault Bently for not turning up the heat.
Bentley isn't saying exactly how much the new special-edition vehicle will set you back, but we do know that the drophead is supposed to show its face at this year's Geneva Motor Show next month. Expect to hear more then.

Stoner ends Sepang test on top

No issues with wing, Williams insists
Williams technical director Sam Michael says he has no concerns about the level of vibration on the FW33's rear wing, amid suggestions that the way the wing is mounted in the radical design could cause problems. The team's 2011 design features a very low and re-angled differential and gearbox, with the rear suspension wishbones mounted onto the central rear wing support. A shower at the start of the morning and a combination of high humidity and low temperatures meant it was not until the eve of the lunchbreak that drivers were able to try slick tyres, and even then conditions remained treacherous, with lap times five seconds off yesterday's fully-dry pace even on slicks. But by the afternoon only a few off-line damp patches remained, and Rosberg made the most of the clear running to go quickest with a 1m23.168s on a single-lap, qualifying-style, run with a quarter of an hour to go.

The V8 virtual circus travelled to Sonoma and the Cup configuration of Infineon Raceway for Week Two of the iRacing V8 Supercar Series. The majestic rises and falls of the Sears Point track and the leery, oversteering nature of the Aussie beast- it’s almost as if they’re made for each other. For this, the early race, Michael McCabe was on pole from Mitchell McLeod. The pair of sim racers had been lightening fast in separate splits prior to this week which made it a delectable prospect for this top split. Williams hopeful of strong season
Williams has a very competitive car and will enjoy a strong season if it manages to develop it quickly, according to technical director Sam Michael. "I think that all the testing that we have been doing show that we have a very competitive car in the FW33 and as long as we develop it quickly, which is what we are doing, I think we'll have a good year," said Michael on Thursday during the launch of Williams's livery for the 2011 season.
Monday deadline for test decision
Formula 1 teams will meet tomorrow night to make a final decision on whether the final pre-season test in Bahrain will go ahead, AUTOSPORT can reveal. The Barcelona test concludes on Monday and sources indicate that it is impossible to delay making a call any longer because of the problems that could arise from uncertainty over whether to go to Bahrain or remain in Spain. Barcelona and Jerez are strong candidates to hold the replacement test and if Bahrain were dropped, teams would need to put into place alternative logistical plans as soon as the test finishes tomorrow.
